American Festival Chorus

So my Mom and her choir are performing in Idaho Falls (7/2) and Sun Valley (7/3) for a 4th of July concert. Tickets are still available and pretty reasonable. The concert starts at 7 p.m. and even some local choirs are singing too.

Here is the info: from www.eidahotix.com

Celebrate the Independence Day weekend with a rousing performance as Dr. Craig Jessop, the head of Utah State University’s department of music, and the American Chorus and Orchestra present “An American Salute featuring national recording artist Maureen McGovern” on July 2nd. This will be a red-white-and-blue, Fourth of July "American Salute" concert features voices that will inspire and songs that will lift your patriotic spirit.

Maureen McGovern’s career spans over 37 years, including recordings, concerts, theater, film, television, radio and songwriting, all with a voice that defies categorization. Her current PS Classics CD, “A Long and Winding Road” has been praised by The New York Times as “…a captivating musical scrapbook from the 1960s to the early 70s. Ms. McGovern’s vocal technique is second to none” and was voted by Playbill.com and talkinBroadway.com among the “Best of 2008 Performances” and “Top 10 Vocal Recordings of 2008.”

Also performing is Daniel Beck. With his Josh Groban-like sound, he will be performing songs from his new solo album “Love Like That”, an album that is an attempt to remind the world about love. Many know Daniel from his musical performances in such shows as “Carousel”, “Oklahoma”, “1776”, “Annie” and the “Scarlet Pimpernel”.

Rounding out this event, is the American Festival Chorus and Orchestra and members of Bonneville High School and Hillcrest High School choirs from Idaho Falls, and Madison High School choir from Rexburg."
