Warwick Castle Part 1

Warwick Castle.

I have never ever seen a castle before and I was blown away. I was eating it all up. Warwick Castle is about an hour drive south-west from Derby. We drove past Birmingham and entered the Shakespeare country. Oh how I wanted to visit Stratford-Upon-Avon but that is another trip. We went to the castle for Reed's birthday. Tim took the day off for his birthday, we hopped in the car with our picnic lunch, and we drove us down. It was a chilly day but with all the walking and the beautiful sun on our shoulder we didn't get to cold. Warwick Castle is privately owned and operated so the castle is in pretty good shape. They have entertainer show how mid-evil life was, they have sword play, story tellers, and a princess tower all sorts of good fun. You are pretty much free to run around to the different things going on around the castle. After you enter the gate and pay for your ticket (or get it via internet like we did, we didn't stand in line so worth it) you enter this is the picture you get of the castle, above.

So we entered the east front gate. Next few picture are just of the gate.

Father and Son.

Don't you just love the door and the road! A lot of the doorways were like this. Short!

Charly with her pink hat on, Tim and Reed with the swords.

As you enter the inside the main house you come to this room the Great Hall. Since my camera was acting funny when we were in here. These are the only pictures I got of the inside but if you go to this link you can view more pictures of the castle and see a map too.  Here is Tim standing next some spooky armor above. The castle was all decorated with halloween stuff.

  1. Oh, how we love castles. That is something we would HAVE to do if we could come out and visit.
