Mesa falls

(Upper Mesa Falls 114')
On Memorial Day we went to Mesa Falls that is about an hour away from where we live. Tim wanted to go for a motorcycle ride and well I didn't want to stay at home with the kids. So it made a good morning outing for us.

Here Charly is exclaiming, "WATERFALL."

Yep she is a smart one recognizes waterfalls.

When we were done looking at Mesa Falls we headed back to the visitors center.
The visitor center is such a charming place. Built between 1912-1914 by Mesa Power  Company, the plan was to make Mesa Falls into Dam. That never happened. So the building became the Big Falls Inn a place for travelers to stop on their way up to Yellowstone. Now the Park Service has ownership of the land and building. I just love the look of the charming old buildings. One of my favorites in Yellowstone is the Lake hotel. So Victorian.
